Position: Senior Design Assistant
General Description:
The function of the position we are seeking is to execute interior drawings, in addition to executing many facets of our Design projects in coordination with the Director and Interior Design Project Manager.
This position will be responsible for developing and presenting creative, solution-based plans and selections for the customer in the areas of space planning, drafting/CAD, furniture and fabric, color and materials application, as well as internal graphic presentations to ensure professional, and consistent client deliverables.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Create drawings in AutoCAD and/or CET (typicals, furniture plans, 3D’s)
- Create graphic presentations in Photoshop and InDesign to ensure professional, and consistent client deliverables
- Review other designers’ specifications and drawings (electrical, RCP, elevations, shops) for accuracy and consistency
- Attend meetings to take notes, provide and distribute meeting meetings, and prepare accompanying project workplan
- Maintain and organize internal project files for consistency and accuracy
- Adhere to deadlines of key deliverables – both internally and for clients to include time sheets, client reports, client deliverables, and internal project reports
- Identify areas that need field verification and coordinate actual dimensions with final plan
- Inventory existing product; incorporate in furniture plans and specifications
- Create sample boards for client presentations
- Continuing education related to product updates and industry trends
- Create specifications and finish schedules (including key schedules and tagging)
- Revise drawings and specs when required
- Assist with budget preparation to include quoting and pricing
- Develop creative, aesthetically pleasing and functional design solutions based on customer needs and directives
- Space planning to meet the customer’s requests
- Specifications, pricing, data entry, filing and time billing entry
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- 3 years of experience in residential interior design projects
- Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or Architecture
- 100% proficiency in AutoCAD, Sketchup, Photoshop, InDesign, and Microsoft
Office (Excel).
- 100% proficiency in English
- Proficiency in Studio Design / Studio Webware, or other Design Management software
- International academic background or experience would be a strong plus
- Willing to relocate to Los Cabos, BCS, Mexico.
